The Play That
Goes Wrong has been performed by Mischief Theatre Company. It is a great hit
amongst both the critics as well as audiences at Edinburgh and London. The show
has made a sensational debut in London Westend at the Duchess theatre. The rib
tickling funny comic show is an enjoyable play within a play.
The show
revolves around the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society. The society is
attempting an ambitious production which is based on 1920’s murder mystery. The
Play that Goes Wrong has some wonderful moments of slapstick, falling of sets,
bad effects, spoiled lines, poor acting and some astonishing theatrical
disasters.
All these
factors lead to hilarious situations which give some great funny moments. This blockbuster
cult hit has enjoyed successful run at the Old Red Lion in Islington, and the
Trafalgar Studios 2 as well as in Edinburgh. Now, the stunning show is all set
to make the box office register ringing with successful West End run.
Under the superb
direction of Mark Bell, The Play that Goes Wrong is simply remarkable. Penned
by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields. Sterling acting performances
makes the show a worth watching. Some of the cast members include Greg
Tannahill, Charlie Russel, Dave Hearn, Nancy Wallinger. Rob Falconer is the
performer as well as the original music composer for the show. The show has
been garnered with immense appreciation for its young cast for their expertise
in physical comedy. The Play That Goes Wrong is the winner of prestigious Best
New Comedy at the 2014 Whatsonstage Awards and the Olivier Award for Best New
Comedy at the 2015 ceremony. Currently, Duchess Theatre is hosting the
blockbuster show. The two hours and five
minutes show is recommended for 8+ kids.
