Jonathan Pryce and Lea Salonga featured in the original show and both went on wining prestigious Olivier and Tony awards for outstanding performances. The saga of Miss Saigon was set in the year 1975, when American GI Chris falls in love with 17 year old Vietnamese bar girl Kim.
