Tina: The Turner

London Westend is all set to welcome the sensational new musical, Tina: The Turner at the popular Aldwych Theatre! The heart-warming and emotional saga of one of the most successful and legendary performer begins previews on March 21st and is booking until June 16th 2018. The show will have an official opening on April 17th 2018.

The spectacular musical will mark its work premiere under the magnificent direction of Phyllida Lloyd of Mamma Mia! fame. The show is all set to make its West End debut and will enliven up the stunning story of one of the world’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll artists, Tina Turner. The show also comprises of some of her greatest hits.

Under the spectacular production of Stage Entertainment, Tina: The Turner show is all set to illuminate the Aldwych theatre. The phenomenal saga of  Tina is presented by Joop van den Ende and Tali Pelman and Tina Turner herself. The show features some of her famous songs, including “What’s Love Got to Do With It”, “Proud Mary”, “River Deep Mountain High” and “Simply the Best”.

With early life in Tennessee, Tina went on attaining super stardom and becoming a world-famous superstar. With the brilliant career graph of more than half a century, the great performer enjoyed her first meeting with success along her then husband and partner, Ike Turner during 60s. They performed some wonderfuk live performances and chart-topping songs such as “It’s Gonna Work Out Fine”.

After her first album Private Dancer in 1984, she launched her international solo career. For this blockbuster album, she earned three Grammy Awards. She went on deliver some chartbusting hits and won further eight Grammys. In the year 1991, she was introduced to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Talented director Phyllida Lloyd, who is renowned for the classic Mamma Mia! and Shakespeare Trilogy at the Donmar Warehouse has directed this life saga of Tina, whereas penned by Olivier Award-winner Katori Hall of The Mountaintop fame, with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins. The creative team comprises of choreographer Anthony van Laast and designer Mark Thompson, with lighting design by Bruno Poet and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.
