Kinky Boots
The blockbuster
London show, Kinky Boots is adapted from the 2005 British movie which is
inspired from a real life saga. Heart touching composition and lyrics by Cyndi
Lauper makes the show a memorable experience. Jerry
Mitchell will direct and choreograph the production. During the 2013 award
ceremony, the blockbuster show was awarded with prestigious six Tony Awards
which comprises of Best Musical and Best Score.
The story of
Kinky Boots is set against the failing British show factory, where Charlie, the
young proprietor develops friendship with Lola, who is a drag queen. He forms
association with her with the perception of turning his shoe business around.
The duo starts making custom made shoes for Drag Queens.
Kinky Boots
feature some chartbusting musical numbers such as “Sex is in the Heal”,
“Everybody Say Yeah” and “Land of Lola”. An American singer/songwriter and
actress of 80s, Lauper who is renowned for some of the classic hits such as “Girls
Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Time After Time”, has become the first woman to win
the Best Score category solo.
Jerry Mitchell,
the two time Tony award winner has delivered wonderful choreography. Legally
Blonde: The Musical and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels have been directed and
choreographed by this award winning talented choreographer and director.
According to the
recent announcements, Killian Donnelly will portray the role of Charlie Price, Matt
Henry as Lola, whereas other cast members include Amy Lennox as Lauren, Jamie
Baughan as Don, Amy Ross as Nicola and Michael Hobbs as George.
The two hours
and twenty minutes show is recommended for 10+ kids and previews will starts
from 21st August 2015 at Adelphi Theatre, whereas official opening
night will be on 15th September.
